Lepida’s digital services are becoming increasingly green thanks to a new sustainable energy procurement path.

Data centers, telecommunications networks, and company offices will be progressively powered exclusively by green electricity, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of technological infrastructure and contributing concretely to the energy transition.

Starting from January 1, 2026, the contracts signed by Lepida with the winner of the Consip framework agreement for the supply of electricity include the "green option."

This option is based on the system of Guarantees of Origin issued by the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), which certifies the injection into the national grid of a quantity of energy produced from renewable sources that is at least equivalent to the consumption of the supply points for which the green option has been activated.

For 170 of the Company's sites, including the 4 data centers, the certified green option has already been activated. The transition will be completed for 100% of the company's sites by 2027.

The initiative integrates with the actions already implemented by the Company in the environmental field, including the photovoltaic systems installed at three of the four company data centers, which in 2025 generated over 260 MWh of green energy.

Through the purchase and self-production of green electricity, Lepida provides its contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the main drivers of the ongoing climate change, in line with the energy transition path promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region as part of the Pact for Work and Climate.

Indeed, the regional objectives include the increase in the production and use of renewable energy, the energy efficiency of public assets, and the achievement of carbon neutrality before 2050, with the goal of 100% renewable energy by 2035.

This initiative confirms Lepida’s commitment, as a regional in-house company, to play a leading role in directing and supporting the digital transformation of local Public Administrations, placing sustainability and the current and future needs of citizens at the center.
