Lepida took part in the biennial ECSA 2026 conference – the European Citizen Science Association – held from March 3rd to 6th, 2026.
The event brought together over 600 participants from more than 40 countries to discuss new developments in Citizen Science in Europe, centered on the theme: “Citizen Science – Bridging Centre and Periphery”.
The four-day event featured international keynotes, parallel sessions, and workshops dedicated to the role of participatory science in strengthening the dialogue between research, citizens, and institutions.
It was an unmissable opportunity to bolster Lepida’s international network in the field of Citizen Science.
Lepida presented the results and future steps of its Citizen Science project, which promotes active citizenship practices and digital participation among territories, local communities, students, and institutions.
Participation in ECSA 2026 allowed for the identification of new project and development areas, while strengthening Lepida’s capacity to act and provide services in the field of Citizen Science and digital transformation.
This highlights how participatory science can serve as a powerful tool for local authorities to raise awareness and support policy-making, helping to address complex issues affecting local areas, ranging from the environment to social well-being.
